The Magic Treehouse and Community Engagement!

Our production team came up with the outstanding idea to give EVERY child that saw our Children's Show this year a free book version of the play we performed. With our heads put together, we came up with the idea to reach out to Mary Pope Osborne via Twitter and ask for a way to receive discounted books. With unmatched graciousness, we received ALL the books we needed and are bursting at the seams to share her kind statement and some heartwarming images:

Mary Pope Osborne, award-winning children's book author of more than 100 books for children and young adults, including the best-selling Magic Tree House (MTH) series, donated over 1,300 copies of MTH Book #2, The Knight at Dawn, to Dallas High School to show her support for their performance of the Magic Tree House original musical by the same name. Mary's donation, which will provide free books to Title 1 elementary students in the Dallas, OR area was made through her Classroom Adventures/Gift of Books Program. This literacy initiative provides resources and grants to teachers who use MTH books in their classrooms. Visit www.MTHClassroomAdventures.org. Mary is thrilled to provide these books to children who will see the performance to enhance their experience by making a valuable and important connection between literacy and the arts.
